Custom miniature portraits of horses and dogs presented in antique pocket watch cases. All portraits are done in colored pencil and water color on museum standard, acid free, archival paper imported from England, from photographs provided by you.
Pricing:
Small portraits $350 size 1" to 1 1/4" case.
1) These are for dog's head portraits ( a bit of shoulder and chest shows in this view).
2) Horse or dog "Eye portraits". The "Eye portrait" is in the tradition of the 18th century "Lover's Eye portraits" (photo at left). The Prince of Wales and Mrs.Fitzherbert wanted to exchange portraits, but their romance was a secret. The Court miniaturist had the idea of painting just an eye so only the wearer would know who it really was.
3) Horse muzzle portrait. Only the muzzle shows.
4) Other animals
Larger portraits $500 over 1 1/4" to 2 1/2" (+) (the upper end is dependent upon the watch cases available in the marketplace).
